Wu Tang Clan - Chamber Music

The Wu-Tang is the most influential and longest running group in Hip Hop. RZA’s vision has helped shape an entire generation of music. They are currently in the studio with noted producer Brendan O’Brien, working on the follow up to their previous two Gold-selling albums, The End Of Heartache and As Daylight Dies. The band, who appeared on the cover of Revolver’s 2009 Preview issue and were praised as having one of the ‘Most Anticipated Albums’ of 2009 by both Alternative Press and Decibel, have proven to be a force to be reckoned with in recent years, having co-headlined the Ozzfest side stage, The Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos.

Michael Jackson, the self-anointed “King of Pop” who revolutionized music but whose legacy was marred by allegations of child molestation and bizarre behavior, died after suffering cardiac arrest Thursday.

“King of Pop” was rushed to L.A. hospital after suffering cardiac arrest.

He was 50 years old and preparing for what he had said would be his final series of live performances.

Jackson’s older brother, Jermaine Jackson, 54, told the media that emergency room doctors worked to resuscitate the pop star for one hour after he arrived at the hospital.

“They were unsuccessful,” he said. Michael Jackson’s personal physician was with the singer when he collapsed in his home and worked to try to revive him.

“May Allah be with you, Michael, always,” Jermaine Jackson said.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to Jackson’s residence at 12:26 p.m. P.T. Paramedics performed CPR on Jackson, who was not breathing when they arrived at his home. He was rushed to LA Medical Center, just six miles from his home.

Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of legendary rock and roll innovator and pop megastar Elvis Presley, was married to Jackson from 1994 to 1996.

Moby - Wait for Me

While listening to filmmaker David Lynch speak at the BAFTA Awards in February 2008, Moby had an epiphany. Lynch’s message- creativity for its own sake is a beautiful, wonderful thing- was a simple one, but it hit Moby with the force of the Zen master’s cane. “At that moment, I decided to just make records that were more personal,” says Moby, “maybe more experimental, and a little more challenging, maybe not as easy to like, but things that I found to be artistically and creatively more satifying. That was the idea behind making the new album.”

The album resulting from this epiphany, Wait For Me, is a radical departure from Moby’s recent albums- last year’s paean to the dance floor, Last Night, 2008’s flirtation with modern rock, Hotel, the shimmering ambience of 2002’s 18, and the zeitgeist-defining melancholy electronica of 1999’s Play. Liberated from the pressures of trying to please himself at the same time as the industry, in making Wait For Me Moby decided to forego the expensive studios, state-of-the-art equipment, big name guest artists, and phalanxes of graphic designers and image consultants that have characterized some of his previous albums. “There’s something so relaxing about doing everything yourself, and not trying to second-guess the market,” Moby says. “It’s nice to try to do things for the right reasons- just make a record because you want to make a record.”
